We will see you again on Sunday 15 July 2007 Stamford Meadows Park
We are delight to announce you this is our 2nd year of Stamford Thai Festival that organised by Thai Culture Forum (Stamford) and Stamford town Council. Last year was our first year and it turned out better than we expected over 5,000 visitors come to join the colourful day. Seeing the support everyone gave to the events is overwhelming and hard work all worth it. It’s not often that you see the Thais, foods, activities all coming together in one place, celebrating the recognition of the country’s finest. This is the reason why we do this and we will continue Thai Festival as long as there are some support from Council and grateful sponsors and never forget to thank you to all visitors.
Again this year we will transform the Meadows to Thai Water Festival (Songkarn). We will show you how Thai people celebrate their Thai new year. The Meadows will fill with Thai food stalls, crafts, car show, demonstration and games to win the ruffle prizes. Bring your family to join the grate day out and find out why we called Thailand the land of smile!!!
The festival will run alongside a authentic Thai food stalls with local home made products and will feature :
- Cookery demonstrations by Tuk Tuk foods and celebrity chefs
- An exciting programme of Thai classical dancing and Thai boxing, both in the run-up to and during the Festival
- Games and Charity donations
- Singha Beer Garden
- Thai gifts and Crafts
- Thai Massage
- Car show
- Local band music
Why at Stamford?
Stamford is the oldest stone town in the country and already attracts many visitors form overseas. Set in a central location so easy to get to for everyone. This will be good opportunity to promote the custome and culture of the locals and build relationships. Any profits made will be used to support a school in Thailand for handicapped children and also a children’s charity in the Stamford area.
We are very hopeful of making this an annual event over two days in the future
